Cape Town Fishing report 30 June 2023

The weather has been up and down this week just like the catches, if willing to brave the cold mornings the weather should allow fishing around Cape Town

Cape Point has been producing Yellowtail all week with good catches made on Wednesday with most boats catching their quota, with some even releasing fish, there was also a few snoek caught between the Yellowtail around the Bellows, today was however a lot slower with only the odd fish landed.

On the Tuna front there was some Longfin caught during the week by some pole boats, although a bit far in the west. I got some reports of a handful of fish caught today, there should be a couple ski boats running tomorrow so lets see how it goes. I believe the water was around 15.3 deg out there, with warmer water much further into the west out of our reach.

Robben Island produced a couple of Yellowtail and the odd slender Tuna during the week, I also got a report of some young snoek caught.

One or two boats were out today at Dassen and heard that fishing was slow with some young snoek caught and a couple of Yellowtail and Slender Tuna.

Here is the forecast for the coming weekend at Cape Point!

For those of you heading out this weekend, good luck and tight lines!
